Some more footage of AoE-developer Ensemble Studios swan song, Halo Wars, the RTS based on the million-selling franchise, has been captured at CES.
The cam footage from the floor at the trade show (comprising ~ a minute and a half of actual gameplay) depicts a battle between humans and the Covenant on an ice-bound world, showing off units, special abilities and the analogue-friendly radial interface.
Personally, I don’t like the idea of RTS on a console (let alone a gamepad) – it’s just a wrong and a clear moneygrab. Granted, such a game as Halo Wars could only work on the Xbox as the PC crowd have been largely ignorant of the series after the Vista-only Halo 2 debacle.
