By Andrew Bryant, February 4, 2009 0 Nintendo Wii, PC

Ahh, the Good Ol' Days

**WARNING – PERSONAL OPINION BELOW**

I’m sorry, unless you’ve played at least one of the many SCUMM adventures from LucasArts (whether via the original disks, way back then, or SCUMMVM ), you’re not a true gamer…

Unfortunately, that’s a debate another time…  For now, lets make do with the fact that some enterprising chap on LucasForums has spent a large amount of time restoring the artwork of greats such as Purcell, Eaken & Chan and converting them into cromulant posters of mega-hugeness™.  Find them here .

By Andrew Bryant, February 4, 2009 0 Industry News

Recession? What Recession!

Despite everyone’s misgivings and apathy towards Haze, I don’t think anyone was happy to see Free Radical go to the wall . The company was one of the first victims of the economic downturn and has been operating in administration on a skeleton staff whilst a buyer was sought.

So long Hellgate – we hardly cared about thee, with your stupid lifetime subscription option and poor gameplay.… Read More…

Unlockable Content? Everyone has seen at least one Batman film – whether it’s one of the recent cinematic masterpieces by Chris Nolan, the malkavian eccentricity of Tim Burton’s efforts, the 60′s kitsch of the original movie or that shit that Joel Schumacher churned out.

Whilst all the focus has often been on these celluloid adaptions (and too a lesser extent, their animated counterparts), the media tends to ignore the comics that started it.  Rocksteady Studios, EIDOS & WBIE are looking to redress this balance with Batman: Arkham Asylum , a game that looks to be a combination of Resident Evil 4/5, Condemned … Read More…

By Andrew Bryant, February 1, 2009 0 Nintendo 3DS/DS, Nintendo Wii, PC, PS3, XBOX 360

He's been holding his breath for over 10 minutes! Those lovable scamps at GameTrailers have the world exclusive debut trailer for the game of the film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the celluloid prequel to the much loved X-Men films (well, apart from The Last Stand – they should have waited on Singer for that one).

There’s no actual gameplay footage in the trailer, just a bit of nice looking cutscene, but if EGM’s quote from Project Lead Dan Vondrak is too believed, it’s going to own .… Read More…
