Review: LEGO Batman
It’s safe to say the game that restarted the LEGO gaming franchise, LEGO Star Wars, was a bit of a fluke. From a (at the time) minor British developer and released to cash-in on the Star Wars hype around the release of Revenge of the Sith, nobody really expected much, given the lack of interest in previous LEGO games. BOY was everyone in for a surprise…!
Aimed at the younger casual gamer with a strong focus on group-play, the game was an overnight success. It’s melding of an almost flawless drop-in/drop-out gameplay mechanics, a warped sense of humour and an … Read More…
Far Cry 2 has narrow view of the world
A little over a year ago, in a major startling development for the industry, a game was released… A relatively minor spectacle, it crept in from somewhere left-field relatively unnoticed and radically under-hyped, landing on a few different platforms. It was called BioShock and it didn’t like Widescreen monitors/TV.
Much hilarity ensued and after much accusation of widescreen-ism, 2K relented and patched a toggle into the game enabling everyone to see an extra 10 o of visualitude either side, allowing a glimpse of Jacks dislocated wrench shoulder where the weapon designer cut corners. After a few months of not-so-private closed beta-ing, Good Old Games has been released on the unwashed masses willing to throw down money for Vista compatible versions of greats like Fallout , Sacrifice & FreeSpace 2 (and not-so-greats, like Earthworm Jim 3D , I.G.I. 2 & Conquest of the New World ).
The official word is…
From today on, GOG.com is officially available to every classic PC games fan that wants to satisfy his need for DRM-free Good Old Games.

BBBRRRAAAIIINNNSSS – WoW World Event heralds arrival of Lich King Expansion
Just like the Scourge Invasion that preceded the release of the Burning Crusade expansion back in 2007, Blizzard has started to spread the plagued tendrils of the Lich King (their words) amongst its server population as a prelude to the arrival of the long-awaited expansion to the biggest MMO the world has ever seen.
Perks apparantly include zombification (does WoW support location based damage?), plagues and much much n00b griefing!
WoW Insider has the full scoop here. … Read More…
Holy Sh*t – Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2 launch date announced
It’s been a little while coming, a fact I can forgive for the debut’s brilliance, but PA & Hothead Games have announced the official launch details for the next in their series of turn-based twisted RPG-em-ups.

Far Cry 2 Performance Review
As I type this, a large number of you (myself included) will either have a small parcel winging its way to them (via your preferred postal service) or a large number of itty-bitty bytes filling your computers hard disk
Contained within said package will, apparently, be a prime candidate for game of the year… a promised tour-de-force 40-hour African safari with blood, guts, violence, and many, many zebras. Yes, Far Cry 2 has shipped for a large deal of people.
In anticipation of it hitting doormats/hard drives, Guru3D have taken sixteen of the worlds favourite graphics cards ( ATI AMD … Read More…
