Vietnam(?) Black – Call of Duty: Black Ops announced, teased
May 2nd

Despite the debacle at Infinity Ward (26 employees and counting), Activision have pushed on with Call of Duty: Black Ops, in development at Treyarch.
The seventh entry in the astronomic series 'could' be set in Vietnam, the Cold War or somewhere else - We're honestly not sure and the trailer doesn't really give enough away to make a informed decision.
Judge for yourself in the teaser after the cut...

SOS New York – Crysis 2 Teaser Trailer *UPDATED*
Apr 9th

EA premièred a teaser for Crysis 2 in Time Square meaning, predictably, at least one of the Internet's vast contingent was available to film it and post it to YouTube, available here.
The trailer currently links to www.sosnewyork.com, which just has a timer (presumably counting down to some HD/expanded trailer goodness), but watch this space!
Lets just hope the game goes some way to explain why we've moved from tropical islands to New York!
*UPDATE* - The website is now live, with an extended HD-ified trailer, which can be found beneath the cut.
Knock Knock – BBC announces episodic Dr. Who games
Apr 8th
A decent Doctor Who game has been a long time coming, not least because until ~2005 the licenses owners considered it a lost cause.
Out to rectify that, the BBC have announced that 4 episodic adventures will be released free* as companions to the new series starring Matt Smith.
Developed by perennial British development house Sumo Digital (nee Gremlin Interactive), with collaboration from Charles Cecil, featuring the likenesses of Matt Smith & Karen Gillen and canon stories written by Stephen Moffat 'n' co (a first for Doctor Who, which has previously branded all-but-televised material as mere fancruft), the first episode from 'Doctor Who: The Adventure Games' (eww) is due on PC & Mac in June.
The question is, will it top Dalek Attack?
* - presumably 'free' means 'free to British TV License Fee payers'. Whether this will involve some elaborate DRM or simply an geographic IP check on the website (like the iPlayer) is as yet unknown.
Press release after the cut...
Pink Robots – War for Cybertron Multiplayer Footage/Release Date
Apr 8th

Well it seems the multi-player component of Transformers: War for Cybertron is doing what we really want of the game - allowing us to make our own shooty robots that specialise in shooting other shooty robots.
Purists may scoff at the classes being generic 'Scientist', 'Leader' and 'Scout' rather than stuff like 'Seeker', 'The One to light their Darkest Hour' and... erm... 'Scout'!
The most important fact about the trailer after the cut? 22/06/2010 is when we get to play this, making it 75 days (and counting) till we get this.
Woot!
