I picked up the original Call of Juarez for next too nothing in a Steam sale a while back. I never finished it, largely because the OTT pseudo-religious fun that was the bible-quoting gunfighter Rev. Ray was totally overshadowed by the intolerable FPS platforming involved in Billy’s levels.

Still, Techland are back to have another crack at the story, setting the next game as a prequel which focuses on Ray and his brother (who shares all of his traits, hopefully meaning minimal strange rope-based platforming action).

Trailer after the cut…

If there was one story that took the GDC by storm, it was OnLive.

The streaming game service from one of the guys behind Quicktime that aims to end the console wars by, well, ending them alltogether and offer even the most basic laptop the opportunity to play Crysis with all the settings ramped up at a steady 60fps.

Sounds too good too be true right?

Numerous publishers have lept on Steve Perlman’s subscription games service (probably mostly down to the promise of 100% anti-piracy measures since nothing ever hits the users machines bar a plugin and the ability to … Read More...

First World at War dropped numbers from its title, now the latest ‘official’ (i.e. developed by Infinity Ward) Call of Duty game seems too have dropped the whole Call of Duty brand all together!

The big reveal at the GDC was, essentially, the teaser trailer and the release date – a solid 11.10.09, which could be either 11th October or 10th November, depending on what you consider the ‘right’ date format (or even 09th October 2011, if the world was one giant SQL database!).

Sine-wave based terrorism after the cut!
