We get a lot of games sent to us for Review here at Computers N Stuff, and unfortunately we don’t get the time to review them all.
Lately, we’d been getting more than usual, and with me redesigning the site and relaunching, i just didn’t have time to review a lot of the games that we were sent. So with that in mind, and so i don’t let down the fantastic PR people who send me these games. I’ve decided to do Quick Fire Reviews, so basically a couple of lines about why i think you should get the game, and a quick rating.
I’m not intending this to be the way i write all my reviews, but it’s so that i can at least say i review everything sent to me – just i might not be able to do a full review. There’s some “big” games in here, i’m not just reviewing the “crap” ones.
Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner
Formats: PC (Reviewed), WiiWare
Similar in episodic nature to Sam & Max Episodes. Quite funny, funnier if you like Homestar Runner. Some difficult Puzzles, witty writing. There’s a demo available so try it! 7/10
Battlefield: Bad Company
Formats: XBOX 360 (Reviewed), PS3
As close to the PC Battlefield Experience as you can get on Console, short singleplayer but not bad for a first attempt at a proper single player Battlefield. Multiplayer is as good as the PC version, however the recently released Conquest mode could do with some tweaks. Great Fun in Mulitplayer, not worth buying just for Single Player. 8/10
Dragonball Z: Burst Limit
Formats: XBOX 360 (Reviewed), PS3
SImilar to Shin Budokai on the PSP but in HD. Big step back in terms of content from previous DBZ games. Laggy Multiplayer, quite frankly bizzare storytelling (half the story is missing!) and lack of fighters makes this a DBZ game to avoid. What’s there is solid though. 4/10
Unreal Tournament 3
Formats: PC, PS3, XBOX 360 (Reviewed)
Same as the PC and PS3 versions, minus the mods. Comes with all Official DLC (from PC and PS3) on the disk. Runs smooth, is a blast on Live and has a quite good Campaign mode. Probably one of the best Shooters on Live, especially if you play Instagib. 8/10
That’s all for this Issue of Quick Fire Reviews, hopefully i won’t have to do another one of these for a while. Apologies to all the PR Peeps who sent me games expecting full reviews, until now i just didn’t have the time. Normal Review service will be resumed.
