New Xbox 360 controller announced – Happy Chibi Ken is happy

Shōryūken! The guy to the right is Ken. He fights streets or something…

He is also very happy at the moment!  “Why?” I hear you ask..?

Well, Microsoft have just announced that there’s a new wireless controller for the Xbox 360 on the way.

Key changes include rejigged concave bumpers, shiny chromed silver accents, fiddled analogue stick tops and silver-coloured buttons instead of the primary colours of old (no word on whether the system will recognise the new pads and change all the button prompt colours).

Oh, they’ve also fixed the rubbish D-Pad, meaning whenever Ken wants to hadouken in Street Fighter IV, he won’t be doing any damn shoryuken like a fool.

As a replacement to the existing Play & Charge kit, $64.99 (or the equivalent) will be the asking price come mid-November in the US (February in the EU – I assume they have to translate the buttons into French or something).

Major Nelson takes us through it all after the cut…

Hilarity ensues!
