The Pokémon Go developer Niantic has not only released a brand-new update for their game, but have now come to put a crackdown on cheaters.
They announced on a reddit page that:
“Starting today, Pokémon caught using third-party services that circumvent normal gameplay will appear marked with a slash in the inventory and may not behave as expected.”
Later in the post they mention that it is just the beginning of their commitment to the game. From what they stated, it seems that any third- party app is now no longer welcome, if it ever was. Also, we can guess that the not behave as expected part would mean that it would just be wasting space in your inventory and not be a MissingNo.
This isn’t the first time and won’t be the last time Niantic has been players. They’ve been banned for faking their GPS coordinates and again for using third party apps.
The Pokémon Go update that includes Raid Battles, a revamped Gym system and now the cheating announcement is no doubt part of the Pokémon Go anniversary, being released July 6, 2016.
