No doubt you’ll have heard the news today about GAME not stocking Mass Effect 3 or any of EA’s forthcoming releases. This along with the recent troubles stocking Ubisofts Vita Launch games (which they now stock) and The Last Story orders being cancelled the day before release don’t really paint a good picture for the future of Britain’s main specialist retailer.
Ok, Barry didn’t really get on with the iOS version of Sonic 4, but it’s not like everyone didn’t see it coming – Sonic Team have been sent to Coventry many times with their broken attempts to reinvent their namesake series for years.
So, as per usual, it’s up to the fans to show them how it’s done.
When Good Old Games announced today, out of the blue, that they are closing down, there was a disturbance in the gaming force, as if millions of gamers who like owning old gaming properties that are being squatted on by their publishers cried out in terror!
Only being the internet, nobody was really silenced…
In what is clearly a record for an already over-saturated market, All Points Bulletin, the hybrid MMO/shooter from the beleaguered Realtime Worlds, has closed down after less than three short months in the wild.
The internet already has a compelling lawsuit-load of evidence of the many failures at Realtime Worlds that lead up to this point, not least this blog currently being maintained by ex-staffer Luke Halliwell, who vents his thoughts quite vigourously at the mis-management that clearly went on behind the scenes.
